How to use Speed & Pitch

  2. Pick a mode

    Speed mode changes duration and pitch together. Pitch-only mode preserves duration using granular resynthesis.

  3. Adjust the sliders

    Speed 0.5×–2.0× or pitch ±12 semitones.

  5. Export

Frequently asked questions
Why does pitch-only mode sound more artifacted?
Time stretching without changing pitch requires granular resynthesis, which introduces minor smearing. Keep pitch shifts under about 4 semitones for natural results.
Can I slow audio for transcription?
Yes. Use pitch-only mode at 0.5–0.75× to keep voices natural while slowing down.
Does speed mode work for DJ cues?
Yes — it behaves like a vari-speed deck. Pitch rises or falls with tempo.
